I just found this interesting, it gives some perspective on the Twilight hysteria out there.

From the blurb of this facebook group: Gay rights are more important than vampire movies

"10% of Stephanie Meyer's Profits from her popular Twilight series goes to the Mormon Church, who has donated time and money to fight against the rights of gays, particularly over the issue of Prop 8. This group is to raise awareness that seeing New Moon or buying Edward Cullen stickers has a severe negative impact on the gay rights movement. Perhaps the more people know the more they can make a well rounded decision of whether or not to dish out money to the anti-gay rights movement."

Twilight is a multi billion dollar creation, and reaches millions of fans worldwide. 10% of that is...quite a lot.

I knew S. Meyer was mormon, and like many religions, would have some sort of due or tythe to the church, but I never thought about it from that perspective.

Would this change how you feel about Twilight? Even though there is no direct message of anti gay in the books or movies, would this affect you're enjoyment or purchase of the books/movies? As someone who isn't a fan, I'd really like to know :/

On a similar topic YAY gay clubbing with pictureplaces tomorrownight!! :D

Well tiger flu will be harder to catch (for those that don't know the "swine flu started in the year of the pig, bird flu in the year of the rooster (i think?)" theory, my statement has relevance fyi)

If cryogenics became a real, affordable option (i.e., if you could freeze your body until aging and illnesses were better understood), would you consider it? If so, do you fear you'd miss out on the wisdom that comes with growing old and dying?

No, I don't think I'd ever want to. Sure, it would be interesting to see how the world develops hundreds or thousands of years down the track, but I wouldn't want to leave my friends and family behind. The people in my life right now are too important to me, I'd rather live my life with them than anything. Plus I don't think there will ever be any cure to "aging" - it's possible that through a revolution of lifestyle choices (i.e. when we all get sick of Mc Donalds and junk food and the TV) our average length of lifetimes will extend, but I think the fear of overpopulation of the planet will be too great for any pharmecutical/medical research companies to find an aging "cure". I'm sure illnesses like cancer, HIV, aids, and other diseases that dibilitate mankind will be cured or treated better, with less of the horrible symptoms like chemotherapy can unfortunately induce.

PS guys those of you following my twitter would know it was stupidly hacked and spammed to ridiculous levels.

SO my new (spam free hopefully) twitter account is

OK LIVEJOURNAL, PICNIC, THIS WEDNESDAY, 11AM, meeting at flinders then moving over to 3 palms (queen vic gardens). BRING FOOD AND AS MANY FRIENDS AS YOU WANT/HAVE.

Seriously, even if we've never met or something (feel free to rock up to flinders, see how loony we look and then leave quietly without ever making yourself known), why not come down and see us?

What the hell, in case any of you have some me-related skeleton's in your closet,

Stolen off radiantbaby

Comments are screened (and anon commenting is on as well if you wish). If you've ever had a smidgen of a crush on me, feel free to comment below. I won't mock you, and only you and I will ever know... ;)

In exchange, you may have a confession from me:
ONE OF THE REASONS I'M DOING ENGINEERING IS SO I CAN AFFORD AMAZING SHOES. Not just nice shoes, or expensive shoes, BUT SHOES THAT COST ROUNDABOUTS THE SAME AS A DEPOSIT ON A HOUSE (obviously as well as a deposit on a house, not instead of). And so I can make purchase of Alex Kapranos. IT IS A NEED, NOT A WANT.

All my previous entries up to this point have now been marked at least Friends Only. Mostly because I don't want the entire world to read what I was like as a creepy teenager (haha, I use past tense as if those two terms don't still apply).

You are completely welcome to friend me, but don't expect that much unless I friend you back, which I will ONLY DO if you comment telling me who you are and why you wish to friend/read my journal.

Oh, especially if I know you/you know me in real life. You have to understand there are some things that YOU SHOULDN'T KNOW AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO KNOW YOU KNOW :O
So for the health and well being of the both of us please don't read any entries from 2006-2008?
